Frequently Asked Questions

What Should I Expect When I Visit?

Be prepared to experience friendship, love and spiritual fullness. Sunday Service starts at 9:30am.

Are Families with Younger Children Welcome?

Families with young children are encouraged to attend.

The sound of young ones adds to the liveliness of the church. For those parents that wish to attend the service without their children present, the church offers nursery services during the worship

How Should I Dress?

We have people attend worship in every type of attire, from blue jeans and sneakers to those in their "Sunday Finest". Please wear what you are comfortable in and know that you will be welcomed.

How do United Methodists Perform Baptism?

We believe the baptism is a gift from God given at no price. We therefore baptize infants, children and adults alike. We baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit using water on the forehead.

How do United Methodists Perform Communion?

We offer communion on the first Sunday of every month. Everyone who professes Jesus Christ is welcome at our table. We use bread and grape juice. Since the method used to come forward and take the elements can vary, instructions about how to proceed are given at each service where communion is served.

Will I be Singled Out as a Visitor?

You’ll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money, and never embarrassed at Hedding. We do hope that you will be greeted numerous times by people who want to get to know you.

How Many People Attend Your Worship Service?

On average the Hedding UMC Sunday service has about 75-95 persons. The age groups vary from very young to very young at heart.
